Our Motivate projects are designed to support people with a learning disability to have visible and valued roles in the community - helping to change the way society thinks about people with a learning disability.

The Social Services and Wellbeing Act sets a very clear expectation that communities should be encouraged to find ways of including people with a learning disability.

Our Motivate services are designed with the Act in mind. We want to support communities to better understand the contribution that people with a learning disability can make.

Powys

Motivate Llanfyllin is a Powys County Council funded service which supports people with a learning disability to run local services for the community.

As well as community allotments and a weekly market stall on Llanfyllin High Street, Motivate Llanfyllin supports people with a learning disability to deliver a much-needed meals-on-wheels service for older people in the community.

Carmarthenshire

Motivate Carmarthenshire supports people with a learning disability to volunteer at a number of sites across the county.

Funded by Carmarthenshire County Council and working in partnership with the National Trust and the National Botanical Gardens of Wales, Motivate Carmarthenshire supports people with a learning disability to volunteer outdoors, to learn new skills and meet members of the public whilst helping voluntary organisations better understand how to support and include people with a learning disability.

Rhondda Cynon Taf

Motivate Rhondda Cynon Taf supports people with a learning disability to deliver a free shopping delivery service for older people in the county.

The project is funded by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Council and supports volunteers with a learning disability to develop new skills whilst supporting vulnerable people in their community.
