Carmarthenshire Mencap Compass Project

I am the community partner for Mencap in Carmarthenshire North. I support people with Learning Disabilities or who may be Neurodiverse. My role is to assist individuals and families with advice, support, and guidance , to enable greater personal well-being and lead healthier lives within their communities. 

Working in and around the Llanelli area helping to connect citizens to their local community. I have been with Mencap Cymru for over 10 years and take pride in getting to know each person as an individual. I believe that every person has the right to access their community and to feel valued. 

I hope to get to know you and help you with the things you need – like good advice, well-being, and Independence , to explore your ideas for the future.  I am here to help connect you with other people and services you may need and to help make your community the best place for you to live.

Hello, my names Melissa (Mel) I've been working for Mencap for a number of years now and recently become the Community Partner for the Amman Valley area. I've lived in the area my entire life and have been involved in a number of LD clubs since a very young age as my sister has an LD herself. I love the area and hopefully can help other people to love and access it as much as I do.
