Mencap Cymru wants Wales to be the best place for people with a learning disability to live.

Our vision is a world where people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included.

We want everyone to have the opportunity to achieve the things they want out of life.

Everything we do is about making sure people with a learning disability are valued equally, listened to and included.

Contact the Wales Learning Disability Helpline

The Wales Learning Disability Helpline is funded by Welsh Government and is open 9am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, including Bank Holidays.

Whether you are a person with a learning disability, family member, friend or staff, we can give you the information you need to understand the rights of people with a learning disability.

We have three regional caseworkers covering different parts of Wales. The Regional Caseworker can support families / individuals to, for example, access health and social care services, address insecure housing and manage complex financial issues and challenge decisions made by statutory agencies. The service fosters resilience, supporting individuals and families to better understand how to challenge public services in order to secure the support they are entitled to.

Call 0808 8000 300 or complete our contact form to get in touch.

Change is possible

We don't just support people for the here and now - we believe that future change is possible for people with a learning disability in Wales.

We campaign for change by lobbying the Welsh Government, National Assembly for Wales and local councils to make sure people with a learning disabiltiy can live the lives they choose.

We also work with schools, the police and hospitals to raise awareness and understanding about learning disability issues.
