Exhibitions

In June we held a week long pop-up exhibition at Chapter Arts Centre where over 200 members of the public visited.

They learned about the lives of people with a learning disability and their aspirations around friendships and romantic relationships.

We also held 3 events during the exhibition; Smutslam and Disastrous Dates, which you'll hear more about from Alex later on.

Our third event was Drag Syndrome. We held this event to mark the closure of the exhibition and the amazing Drag Syndrome performed for us at the Tramshed.

Drag Syndrome performed a number of songs, the highlight be ing when everyone with a learning disability got up on stage and sang This Is Me (from the film The Greatest Showman). You can see highlights from the show here.

On 2 September 2019 we placed 10 audio pods around Wrexham town centre. These devices will be in place until Friday 1 November.

We want to the people of Wrexham to hear the stories we have collected. Rather than have an exhibition in a museum, the final year of the project will see these stories placed in community spaces and businesses. Take a look at where these can be found using this map image.

Ffilm fer ac ap i ddyfeisiau symudol

Ochr yn ochr â’n harddangosfeydd, rydym ni wedi lansio ap ar gyfer dyfeisiau Android ac Apple. Gallwch lawrlwytho’r ap a gwrando ar rai o’r hanesion llafar a gasglom, a dysgu mwy am y prosiect. Gallwch wneud hyn trwy sganio’r cod QR. Agorwch ap camera eich dyfais a’i ddal wrth y cod.

Rydym ni hefyd newydd lansio ffilm fer Ein Rhwydweithiau Cymdeithasol. Cafodd ei cyfarwyddo gan Clare Sturges, gyda chymorth cynhyrchu LikeAnEgg Productions.

Mae’r ffilm fer yn cynnwys nifer o bobl ag anableddau dysgu yn trafod beth mae cariad a chyfeillgarwch yn ei olygu iddyn nhw.

Please tell your colleagues and networks about our app and short film!

Seminar

On Friday 11 October we held a seminar at the Catrin Finch Centre.

We talked about some of the themes to come out of our oral history interviews. We also shared our film and tell the stories so people can hear them in more detail.
